Where Intuition Fails Us All

Here’s an old physics teacher, Albert Bartlett, a physicist at the University of Colorado in Boulder, talking about mathematics.

He got 4 million + views on YouTube!

Say what?

So, I got curious…and couldn’t take my eyes off this series of videos. [1]The link brings you to a serie of 9 short videos. These were shot at a time YouTube couldn’t handle files longer than 10 minutes of duration. The 10 minutes time limit is a good thing here; it facilitates effective learning. It is the limit the Khan Academy uses in all their teachings on videos. Udemy goes even further with an effective limit around 5-7 minutes per video.

There is a good probability you won’t either.

Why? Because there are phenomenons, like exponential growth, that totally escape human intuition, and yet, are crucial to understand if we want to make it at a species.

So, prepare yourself to be blown away by what you are about to learn.
